Our fund has invested in Fabric8Labs, a US 3D metal printing technology Startup

Marunouchi Innovation Partners Co., Ltd. through Marunouchi Climate Tech Growth Fund L.P. (collectively “MIP”), has invested in Fabric8Labs, Inc. (“Fabric8Labs”), a San Diego-based provider of advanced 3D metal printing technology.

Fabric8Labs has pioneered a proprietary 3D manufacturing method called Electrochemical Additive Manufacturing (ECAM). Fabric8Labs uses this ECAM method to manufacture high-resolution copper metal parts through a scalable foundry model, with less CO2 emissions than conventional production methods.

Initial markets Fabric8Labs is targeting include thermal management solutions (cold plates) for high-power AI compute chips, and radio frequency (RF) wireless components. ECAM-manufactured products deliver superior thermal and electrical performance, making them particularly well-suited to these demanding applications.

With the rising demand for more efficient heat dissipation of AI chips, and improved performance of wireless components, Fabric8Labs’ breakthrough technology is uniquely positioned to meet these needs and capture significant growth of the market.

Jeff Herman, Fabric8Labs Co-Founder and CEO:
“Marunouchi Innovation Partners shares our vision for reshaping manufacturing through sustainable, high-performance metal additive manufacturing technology, This partnership will help us expand ECAM’s reach into key markets and accelerate new product development and manufacturing scale-up for next-generation components.”

Ichiro Miyoshi, MIP CEO / CIO:
“We are delighted to be partnering with Fabric8Labs, whose breakthrough ECAM technology addresses the growing demands of thermal management for AI and high-performance computing. As rack power densities and wireless data requirements continue to accelerate, Fabric8Labs is well positioned to deliver the advanced components these markets require, while also reducing CO2 emissions relative to conventional manufacturing methods. We look forward to supporting Fabric8Labs as it grows in these rapidly evolving sectors.”
